“New Year’s Eve in Wadi Rum was a 24-hour experience to remember.”

Looking for a unique and unforgettable way to celebrate New Year’s Eve and start the new year? Join us for a 24-hour experience in the magnificent Wadi Rum desert. We’ll begin by exploring the stunning natural beauty of the desert, which will leave you feeling peaceful and relaxed. After sunset, we’ll head to our camp for dinner and a Bedouin-stle New Year’s Eve celebration. Enjoy live music, traditional Bedouin tunes and international hits under the stars at our Wadi Rum Base Camp camp. As midnight approaches, we have a surprise in store for you.

After a restful night, you can depart or continue your adventure by exploring more of the striking desert. Opt for a 1- or 2-hour camel ride or another full-day tour. Whatever you choose, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of the desert that will last a lifetime!

A magical day out in the desert

You’ll have two full-day tours on December 31st, starting from our Wadi Rum village office. You can join a jeep tour to explore the famous sites of the Wadi Rum desert or a desert tour that takes you to the quieter southeast outer area of the protected area. Both tours are designed to allow you to have a fantastic day in the desert.

Your tours are arranged for small groups of a maximum of six guests and a Bedouin guide. For groups of six or more persons, a private tour is available.

During the tour, you will explore different sites and engage in exciting activities such as admiring ancient drawings and writing, walking through stunning canyons, and climbing dunes. We will also visit high places to enjoy the breathtaking views over the magnificent red and yellow desert.

At midday, we will take a break to enjoy a freshly prepared, warm Bedouin lunch in a quiet, picturesque location in the desert. Afterwards, we will continue exploring the most beautiful and mesmerizing places in Wadi Rum during the afternoon.

Last sunset of the year

At the end of the afternoon, all the groups will gather in Um Sabatah - a beautiful and peaceful location in the southern part of the Wadi Rum protected area. We will be witnessing the last sunset of the year together. You can find your perfect spot to view the sun going down for the last time this year while we prepare Bedouin tea for you. Whether with your loved ones, alone, or with other guests and us, sipping a warm cup of sweet Bedouin tea while watching the colours change as the sun disappears behind the horizon is a magical experience. The deafening silence and ultimate peace will invite you to reflect on the year that has passed and dream about what the New Year holds for you.

Celebrate New

You can spend the night in a traditional Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum on New Year’s Eve. Once you arrive, you can relax and enjoy some sweet Bedouin tea around the fire pit in our communal tent. You can chat with other guests and guides about the day’s adventures. Later, we will serve a delicious, festive Bedouin dinner with various dishes for meat-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans.

After dinner, we will celebrate New Year’s Eve Bedouin stle with live music and dance. If you’d like, you can step outside and marvel at the starry night sky. If the weather is good, we could move the party outdoors. Imagine dancing to Bedouin music and international hits in the Wadi Rum desert, surrounded by iconic mountains and under a billion stars!

Around midnight, we have a special surprise for you that you’ll never forget. Whenever you’re ready to call it a night, you can retire to your tent and snuggle under warm blankets to dream about the new year ahead.
